Why Do Octopuses Resemble Aliens?

When thinking about octopuses, we generally envision a rather strange creature that resembles a "bag" with eight flexible limbs.

However, these cephalopods are so unusual in their abilities and physiological parameters that they may seem like entirely alien creatures.

For example, they have not one, but three hearts, which pump blue blood. Additionally, one species is armed with a venom that is 1000 times more toxic than cyanide. If we were to metaphorically compare the anatomy of an octopus to that of a human, we would say that its "arms are attached to its head," and its mouth is located in its armpits. An octopus senses taste with its entire body surface. It has no bones and can change not only its shape but also its color.

Moreover, octopuses are extremely intelligent and, as zoologists have recently claimed, possess consciousness.
