An American tourist returning from a trip to the Democratic Republic of the Congo attempted to bring four dried monkey corpses in his luggage. After their discovery by a service dog, he claimed he brought them for 'personal consumption.'
According to the publication, the import of raw or minimally processed meat from wild animals into the U.S. is prohibited due to the risk of disease transmission. As a result, the entire luggage of the traveler was confiscated and handed over to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for disposal.
