In Estonia, the shooting of 110 wolves has been recorded. An additional 47 are allowed to be killed

As of Friday, 110 wolves have been recorded in Estonia, killed under the state-established quota.

According to information from the Environmental Department, an initial quota for the shooting of 144 wolves was approved, after which the killing of an additional 13 individuals was permitted, as reported by the Estonian Hunters' Society.

The largest number of wolves was shot in Pärnumaa — 20 individuals, and in Järvamaa — 15 individuals.

Scientists note that there are more wolf litters in Estonia than provided for in the large predator control program. This has led to a significant increase in the damage caused by wolves.

Quotas for wolf shooting are set by the state, and in the current season, hunters are required and allowed to shoot a total of 157 wolves in Estonia.
