Veterinarian Edward Wolf warned that the use of laser pointers can cause frustration in cats.
The specialist does not recommend using laser pointers during playtime with pets. “The inability to catch such 'prey' leads to frustration in cats,” noted the expert.
However, playing with cats is important at any age, adds the veterinarian. “Cats continue to play with toys throughout their lives. This is extremely important for both kittens and adult cats. Toys should be safe and mimic natural prey. For example, they can be mice or birds,” explains Edward Wolf.
Intellectual toys that promote the development of cognitive skills in cats are also encouraged, he adds.
