The runaway was spotted by 58-year-old D. Jacobs during a walk to the sea. The bird was sitting right in the road, which seemed strange to the man. With the help of passersby, he managed to catch it.
Later, Jacobs reported the finding on social media. Soon, a farmer from a neighboring village got in touch. He recognized his pet and suggested that the chicken climbed onto the spare tire of his friend's car and thus traveled about 40 km.
The bird safely returned home, and its life is not in danger.
