How to Plant Dill for Self-Seeding

Dill does not always thrive. Some gardeners face problems when the greens do not grow or disappear after a year.

There is a method of planting that allows dill to grow on its own and spread every year. When and how should dill be properly planted?

Experienced gardeners note that this plant germinates best when planted in winter.

During this period, the seeds accumulate essential oils that slow down germination.

The planting material can be distributed over large areas.

It is recommended to mix different varieties of seeds in advance.

However, it is important not to forget about the need for care of the crop.

Dill can be affected by pests such as the carrot fly and the onion leaf miner. Therefore, it is advisable to carry out treatments using natural remedies, such as garlic or nettle infusion.

Also, when planting, it is important to consider that dill should not be planted in areas where liming has recently taken place, as it prefers more acidic soil.
