Do hugs really contribute to better health?

There is an opinion that hugs make people happier...

A group of American researchers from Indiana University in Bloomington and other institutions came to this conclusion. The results of the study were published in the Journal of Sex Research, which specializes in the study of human sexuality. – Ed.

The scientists conducted a survey among 1,000 women aged 18 to 72, most of whom have steady partners. An analysis of the frequency of various touches and the participants' subjective life satisfaction showed that regular contact is an important element of a positive assessment of relationships. Those who hug several times a day turned out to be the happiest. The authors of the study conclude that regular hugs significantly increase happiness levels, which, in turn, positively affects overall health.
