How to Get Rid of Gnats in Houseplants?

There are many reasons why gnats may appear in houseplants.

As noted by flower shop seller Anna MOKRYSHEVA, this can be caused by excessive soil moisture, the use of organic fertilizers that begin to decompose over time, unprocessed soil containing insect larvae and plant debris, as well as spoiled food, which can lead to gnats moving to the plants.

To get rid of the insects, the first step is to isolate the affected plant from the others so that the gnats cannot spread to healthy flowers. Then, it is necessary to transplant the plant into a new pot with clean soil and treat it with a special aerosol.

Agronomist Lyubov GOLENKO recommends a proven method: dilute potassium permanganate in water to obtain a light pink solution (0.1 g of potassium permanganate per 1 liter of water) and water or spray the flower with this solution once a week.
