American specialists confirmed that positive affirmations can genuinely improve a person's emotional state. This conclusion was reached by experts from the American Psychological Association after analyzing dozens of scientific publications on affirmations — a method of self-suggestion in which a person regularly states positive phrases about themselves.

The review included 129 studies involving 17,000 volunteers. They were all asked to perform affirmations, after which the researchers assessed changes in their psycho-emotional state.

The results showed that such practices reduce anxiety levels, make people more satisfied with life, and boost confidence in their abilities. The effect was observed among representatives of different ages and nationalities and lasted for about two weeks.

However, specialists noted differences between groups. For adult participants, self-esteem primarily increased, while improvements in mood and feelings of happiness were more often observed among Americans. Inhabitants of Europe and Asia showed weaker positive shifts. Researchers attribute this to cultural characteristics and differences in the perception of personal achievements and emotional expression.

Nevertheless, the researchers emphasized that regardless of country and age, affirmations generally have a positive impact and can be used as a simple means of psychological support and boosting confidence.
