It is impossible to completely get rid of dust in the house — it constantly circulates in the air, settling and rising again with the slightest movement of air. Even after thorough cleaning, a thin layer of gray residue appears on furniture again within a few hours.
According to TechInsider, there are many factors that influence the amount of dust in an apartment. One of the main reasons for its rapid accumulation may be contaminated filters in ventilation, heating, and air conditioning systems. When air passes through them, dust and dirt particles enter the room and settle on surfaces.
Household appliances and radiators additionally contribute to this process: the heat they emit creates upward currents, preventing dust from settling quickly. At the same time, static electricity pulls particles back — which is why the screens of televisions and monitors become covered in dust particularly quickly.
Even with closed windows, dust penetrates inside the home: through micro-cracks in walls and frames, as well as through contaminated ventilation ducts. Therefore, regular weekly cleaning does not always help maintain perfect cleanliness.
Experts recommend changing the order of actions: first wipe the surfaces, and then use a vacuum cleaner. If you do it the other way around, some particles will rise back into the air, and the procedure will have to be repeated. For wiping, it is better to choose a damp microfiber cloth — it collects dust rather than smearing it.
An additional measure can be the use of air purifiers and humidifiers. These devices will not completely eliminate dust, but they will help significantly reduce its amount and allow for less frequent deep cleaning.
