Can you compensate for sleep deprivation during the week by sleeping until noon on weekends?
No.
"If a person wakes up at 12 PM on Saturday, they won’t want to go to sleep on Saturday night and will wake up again at 12 PM, " explains Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Roman BUZUNOV. "On Sunday night to Monday, everything will repeat, and waking up on Monday morning for work will be difficult."
According to the scientist, even if you have accumulated a sleep deficit, it is not advisable to sleep in on Saturday and Sunday. You should get up on weekends no later than two hours compared to weekdays. In this case, the body will rest and won’t need to readjust significantly.
