After harvesting, the greenhouse must be treated to prevent pests and mold from appearing in the next season, stated agronomist M. Kruglova.
According to the specialist, for treatment, 50 g of copper sulfate is used per 10 liters of water or 100 g of lime per 1 square meter. Over the winter, chlorine completely evaporates, the expert clarified.
In addition to chemical agents, biopreparations that are safe for humans and plants are also popular. However, for their effective action, it is important to maintain the temperature and humidity conditions necessary for the functioning of live bacteria. Granules with methaldehyde help against slugs, while sulfur candles and copper sulfate deal with fungal infections.
It is recommended to carry out the treatment immediately after removing plant residues and weeds at air temperatures above 5 °C, added Kruglova.
