The gastroenterologist advised adding cinnamon to coffee for greater benefits.
Gastroenterologist Saurabh Sethi suggested how to increase the benefits of coffee in just a few seconds. He is quoted by the Daily Mirror.
The doctor believes that adding a pinch of cinnamon to black coffee will not only enhance its aroma but also make it healthier. "Cinnamon contains powerful antioxidants, and it helps reduce spikes in blood sugar," he explained.
Another option to make coffee healthier, according to the gastroenterologist, is coconut oil. He stated that such a drink provides energy to the body and is beneficial for the brain. For even greater benefits, Sethi recommended adding grated dark chocolate to the drink. The doctor pointed out that it is rich in polyphenols, which, when combined with coffee, become excellent nutrients for gut bacteria. In addition, chocolate is a good source of antioxidants, the doctor concluded.
