The red hot sauce, which is added to many different dishes, is known worldwide.
This sauce consists of just three ingredients, but creating authentic Tabasco requires several years of aging.
You can also make Tabasco yourself using a simplified recipe without years of aging.
For this, you will need:
1 kg of fresh red Tabasco peppers (can be substituted with chili);
100 g of sea salt;
150 ml of 6% vinegar.
First, wash the peppers, remove the stems, and chop them using a blender.
Add the sea salt to the resulting mixture and fill pre-sterilized jars to the brim.
Close the containers with lids and leave them at room temperature for four weeks.
After that, add the vinegar to the future sauce and leave it in the refrigerator for another week.
Then strain the resulting mixture through a fine sieve. Store the Tabasco in sterilized bottles in a dark and cool place.
