Products That Reduce the Risk of Premature Death Have Been Named

Aging is a natural and inevitable process. However, excessive meat consumption can accelerate it. Doctors recommend partially giving up meat delicacies in favor of products that not only help prolong the youth of the body but also protect against premature death.

According to endocrinologist Zuhra Pavlova, a great substitute for processed meat (sausages, ham, bacon, and shashlik) is small sea fish. It is an inexhaustible source of health-beneficial nutrients and vitamins, including calcium, vitamin B12, and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). A deficiency of these components can lead to the development of cardiovascular diseases and other serious ailments.

In previously conducted studies, scientists found out what changes would occur if a significant portion of meat products in the diet were replaced with small sea fish — anchovies, sardines, herring, and capelin. According to their calculations, such dietary changes could save up to 750,000 people worldwide from premature death within the next two decades.

The expert clarified that replacing 8% of consumed processed meat with small sea fish could prevent 10% of deaths from cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, the number of deaths from strokes, type 2 diabetes, and colorectal cancer would decrease by one to two percent.

In her Telegram channel, Dr. Pavlova emphasizes that one should not completely give up red meat, as it contains easily digestible protein and antioxidants. It is important to cook it properly — bake, boil, or stew. In this form, it will be beneficial when consumed once or twice a week. At other times, it is recommended to prefer fish, seafood, and white meat.
