Honey Meat: A Recipe for Gourmets

Tender and soft honey meat, which then turns into an impressive festive platter, is not difficult to prepare at all.

 

Some believe that meat dishes and sweets cannot be combined. However, experienced chefs hold the opposite opinion. With the right preparation, meat and sweet ingredients complement each other wonderfully. Many famous delicacies have been created thanks to a successful combination of meat and sweet components. Honey meat, the recipe for which is presented below, is an excellent example. It is hard to find a more successful combination!

Famous chefs claim that honey pairs best with pork, veal, chicken, and duck. The sweet texture of honey gives these types of meat a spicy yet refined flavor. Additionally, pork and veal become especially tender, soft, and juicy under the influence of honey.

Ingredients:

1 kg pork tenderloin
1 l water
50 g sugar
50 g salt
3 tbsp vegetable oil
3 tbsp honey
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 tsp thyme
3 cloves garlic
1 lemon

Preparation:

1. In a container with water, add salt and sugar, stirring until completely dissolved. Place the meat in the resulting brine, cover with a lid, and refrigerate for an hour.

2. Press the garlic, add lemon juice, honey, mustard, thyme, and vegetable oil. When the sauce is ready, take the meat out of the refrigerator, dry it with paper towels, and place it in a baking dish.

3. Generously coat the meat with the sauce, pouring the remainder on top. Bake for 30 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees. Don’t forget to baste the meat with the sauce that forms at the bottom of the dish along with the meat juices every 5 minutes.
