Pork lard contains vitamins A, D, E, and K. These nutrients are necessary not only for strengthening the immune system but also for normalizing the functioning of internal organs such as the liver, heart, stomach, and intestines.
There is no need to worry about raising cholesterol levels in the blood. Although saturated animal fats can indeed be a source of it, the content of these fats in lard is significantly lower than in refined oils such as palm or sunflower oil. If limited to two pieces of lard a day, there will be no harm.
What Amount of Lard is Acceptable Daily?
The nutritionist claims that lard can only bring benefits if the daily intake does not exceed 40-50 g of this delicacy. This is approximately three pieces, no larger than a matchbox.
The taste and experience of lard can be enhanced by adding fresh herbs, garlic, pepper, or spicy mustard.
Who Should Avoid Lard for Health Reasons?
Unfortunately, not every lard lover can afford it. This especially applies to people with serious cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal tract disorders (such as pancreatitis, cholelithiasis, colitis, especially during exacerbations), and hepatitis.
