The Nutritionist Talked About the Health Benefits of Asparagus

Asparagus is rich in vitamins A, C, E, K, and B vitamins, as well as folic acid, iron, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, zinc, selenium, and potassium.

 

B vitamins help maintain normal blood sugar levels, while B9 and B12 assist in thinning the blood.

“Therefore, asparagus is recommended for people prone to elevated homocysteine levels (high homocysteine levels increase the risk of vascular damage),” noted nutritionist Svetlana Peres.

Additionally, asparagus is an excellent source of dietary fiber, which positively affects digestion. Due to its diuretic effect, this vegetable also helps in combating urinary tract infections.

“This vegetable contains a significant amount of inorganic minerals that protect liver cells from the toxic effects of free radicals,” added the expert.
