Ingredients
1.5 cups of buckwheat
500 g of beef
1 carrot
1 onion
3 cloves of garlic
salt, pepper, spices to taste
oil for frying
5 cups of water
Step-by-Step Recipe for the Original Dish
The first step to creating a wonderful buckwheat pilaf is to carefully prepare the ingredients. Grate the onion or chop it finely. Cut the carrot into strips and the meat into cubes. Don’t forget to prepare the garlic by mincing it.
Sauté the onion in a pan until golden, then add the meat. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and add spices. After that, add the carrot and minced garlic to the pan. Sauté everything together for 5 minutes.
Then pour 2.5 cups of water into the pan and cover with a lid. Let all the ingredients simmer for 40 minutes over medium heat.
While the meat and vegetables are cooking, toast the buckwheat in another pan. This step will give your dish a special aroma and flavor. Transfer the toasted buckwheat to the pan with the meat and vegetables. Add another 2.5 cups of water and cook for 20 minutes over medium heat.
Turn off the heat, but leave the pilaf covered for another 15 minutes. This stage will give the dish softness and richness of flavor. And there you have it, your magnificent buckwheat pilaf is ready! Serve it hot and enjoy the unique combination of aromas and pleasant taste.
