To maintain health, it is important for people over 45 to reconsider their diet and eliminate harmful products. This was reported by dietitian Anna Petrova.
According to the specialist, the consumption of certain foods after the age of 45 may contribute to the development of cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease. In this regard, she strongly recommends first eliminating baked goods from the diet. This is explained by the fact that such foods can cause swelling, negatively affect skin condition, and cognitive functions.
Petrova also opposed foods containing sugar and confectionery products. They can contribute to the development of atherosclerosis and become a cause of stroke or ischemic heart disease. Instead of sweets, the specialist advises choosing sugar-free cakes, dietary desserts based on fruits or vegetables, casseroles, and dried fruits. In the dietitian's opinion, chocolate is better replaced with dates, prunes, bananas, and apples. Additionally, preference should be given to dark chocolate, as it contains less sugar and more beneficial substances.
The interviewee noted that those who love sweets may develop what is known as a “sugar face.”
“Its characteristic signs are dull skin color, the appearance of pigmentation, red spots, swelling, as well as thinning of the eyebrows and lethargy,” she added.
The expert urged to abandon canned products, as they contain carcinogens that contribute to the onset of dangerous diseases.
Due to the high salt content, processed meat products can cause swelling. These include sausages, hot dogs, bacon, and similar products, noted Petrova. She also recommended excluding alcoholic beverages, which negatively affect the liver.
