When consumed in moderation, it is not necessary to drink water with coffee.
Nutritionist Vasily ZOROV explains:
“Water undoubtedly plays a key role in maintaining human health. When the body loses more fluid than it takes in, it leads to dehydration. Caffeine does indeed promote the accelerated removal of fluid from the body.
However, modern studies have shown that with regular caffeine consumption, the body develops a tolerance to its diuretic effect. Consuming coffee in moderate amounts — three to four cups a day — does not lead to dehydration and does not require drinking water.”
By the way, in quality cafes, a glass of water is served with coffee also to reveal all the flavor nuances of the drink. By cleansing the taste buds, a person is able to better perceive all the shades of coffee flavor.
