The 'Right' Fast Food: How to Make Cauliflower Nuggets

Someone said that vegetables cannot be tasty? They certainly can, believe the chefs who know how to cook them properly. Thus, cheese nuggets made from cauliflower will serve as a healthy alternative to meat snacks from fast food restaurants.

Cauliflower — the Main Ingredient

There are not many dish options with cauliflower: usually, the florets are simply fried in batter, baked on a baking sheet with other vegetables, or mashed into puree. Nuggets are another appropriate use for the harvest.

It is important that cauliflower contains B vitamins, vitamin C, and fiber, which means it helps with intestinal function and supports the immune system. With proper cooking, the vegetable retains up to 80% of its nutrients, so snacks made from it are definitely healthier than those made from processed meat.

How to Make Vegetable Nuggets

Ingredients:

1 medium cauliflower (cut into florets);
1 egg;
½ cup breadcrumbs;
¾ tsp each of garlic powder, parsley, and salt;
about 100 g cheddar cheese;
about 100 g mozzarella;
1 tbsp olive oil.

Boil or steam the cauliflower until soft, then cool and remove excess moisture from its surface. Mash with a fork, mix with cheese, egg, breadcrumbs, and spices, and form nuggets into the desired shape.

Fry in a pan for 4 minutes on each side until golden brown, bake at 200 °C for 17 minutes, or cook in an air fryer at 190 °C for about 12–15 minutes.

If you don't have cauliflower or it is not to your taste, try other ingredients.
