Some products can help cope with heaviness in the stomach after overeating. This was stated by Doctor of Medical Sciences, endocrinologist, and dietitian Anna Goncharova.
According to her, natural enzymes and spices can aid digestion.
“A small amount of horseradish or mustard, tea with ginger, lemon, mint, or chamomile, consumed in small sips over 10-15 minutes, helps improve well-being. A few berries of cranberry or lingonberry, and among vegetables, finely grated raw carrot are also effective,” the expert explained.
The dietitian added that in southern countries, people eat exotic products containing enzymes to improve digestion. For example, fresh pineapple juice and papaya are similar to pancreatic enzymes, thus aiding in food digestion. It is enough to eat 4-5 small pieces or drink a glass of juice to relieve heaviness in the stomach.
“The tendency to overeat is related not only to habits or emotional state but also to metabolic characteristics. It is important not to try to solve the problem on your own but to consult a specialist for an individual approach,” the endocrinologist concluded.
