Guilt-Free Dinner: What to Eat at Night to Avoid Regrets in the Morning

Protein and fiber are important components of a healthy dinner. For this reason, it is best to prefer dishes made from fish, seafood, or chicken combined with vegetables, as well as scrambled eggs or cottage cheese for the last meal of the day.

Fish and seafood are considered high-quality and easily digestible sources of protein, especially when baked or steamed. Eggs, low-fat cottage cheese, and chicken fillet are also excellent choices, and sometimes lean beef or pork can be included in the diet, provided that vegetables are served as a side dish.

In fact, the body can obtain necessary nutrients from a significant variety of dishes:

  • baked cod with broccoli and carrots;

  • grilled chicken fillet with a fresh vegetable and herb salad;

  • omelet with mushrooms and spinach;

  • cottage cheese casserole with added berries;

  • vegetable salads with seafood.

Such recommendations play a special role for those who aim to lose weight. The fact is that excluding fatty, overly salty, and heavy dishes in the evening, along with reducing carbohydrate intake and engaging in physical activity, yields the best results.

If it is not possible to have a full dinner, one should not refuse a snack, especially since there are quite healthy options available. For example, low-fat cottage cheese with berries, a few nuts or almonds, natural unsweetened yogurt, or a glass of kefir. None of these options will cause excessive strain on the stomach, but they will provide a prolonged feeling of satiety.

It is also important to plan dinner so that the last meal is no later than 3-4 hours before sleep. This will allow the body to fully process the food, improve the quality of rest, and contribute to maintaining health.
