On Friday, June 19, Russian journalist and editor Grigory Nekhoroshev passed away in the Latvian capital. He had lived in this Baltic country for the last eleven years.
His death was reported by artist Mikhail Molochnikov.
“Grigory Nekhoroshev has gone to another universe to write his texts... The longer you live, the fewer good acquaintances you have to talk to...” Molochnikov noted.
Details of the journalist's death were revealed by former columnist for the newspaper Izvestia, Bozhena Rynska, who emigrated to Latvia. She spoke about her last meeting with him.
“Grisha Nekhoroshev has died, a legend of domestic journalism... The death is terribly foolish — he poisoned himself with false honey mushrooms. Why he went to eat such treacherous mushrooms as honey mushrooms, which even experienced mushroom pickers confuse, is unclear... I saw Grisha about three years ago in Riga. He was drinking, it seemed, and was suffering over his ex-girlfriend, who had, let’s say, significant mental peculiarities,” Bozhena wrote on her Telegram channel.
Grigory Ivanovich emigrated to Latvia in 2014. From Riga, he collaborated as a freelance columnist and reviewer with newspapers such as Delovoy Peterburg, Sovershenno Sekretno, Radio Liberty, and others. He published a series of detective stories.
