In Texas, a truck carrying bees was involved in an accident. 2 million insects were set free, reports The Guardian, citing a statement from the Orange County emergency services.

The incident occurred on one of the highways in the state. The truck driver lost control on a turn. After the vehicle overturned, most of the insects broke free. State authorities recommended that people stay indoors and avoid approaching the scene until the work was completed.

Professional beekeepers and apiary owners from various regions were brought in to handle the aftermath. Specialists are collecting the swarms to transport them to honey farms. According to experts, such cases are rare, but they require a quick response.

Last year, an incident involving bees occurred in Spain. A beekeeper, stopped for not wearing a seatbelt and driving under the influence, unleashed a swarm he was transporting in the trunk on the police officers.
