A Riga resident stepped onto the crosswalk and collapsed onto the asphalt of Latgale Street. He tried to get up and fell again. Another attempt – again unsuccessfully. Help came from an unexpected source.
The condition of the pedestrian can only be speculated upon, but he was clearly unable to walk, as evidenced by the video recorded by a driver patiently waiting to see how the unprecedented crossing of the street by the individual would end.
Surely, the citizen would have tried for a long time to reach the opposite sidewalk, but fortunately for him, firefighters were passing by, who in Latvia also perform the functions of rescuers.
And then the flashing lights turned on, a huge red truck blocked the traffic, and several brave rescuers picked up the uncoordinated body and carefully carried it away from the roadway. Our firefighters – they protect us, thank them for that!
We especially note the uplifting soundtrack to the video.
