The Prosecutor's Office of the Polotsk District has submitted a criminal case to the court against a 38-year-old local resident - she is accused of misappropriation of entrusted property, the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus reported.
According to the case materials, she worked as a cook in one of the schools. For several months, as the investigation believes, the woman was taking food out of the school cafeteria.
In particular, she intentionally violated the cooking technology for the students' meals by not including the required ingredients according to the standards. The resulting surplus was taken out of the cafeteria at the end of the workday and used for personal needs.
Law enforcement found 84 packs of butter, as well as cheese, fish fillet, and minced meat in the woman's possession. The material damage was estimated at nearly 900 rubles (about 270 euros).
The woman has been charged under Part 1 of Article 211 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (embezzlement or misappropriation of property entrusted to the guilty person).
The penalty for this article provides for punishment of up to four years of imprisonment.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Polotsk District has sent the case to court. The woman is currently under a travel restriction.
