The flames in one of the properties in the Olain region destroyed a bathhouse and a residential house.
Houses in the village are built close to each other, so in this case, they were lucky with the wind direction — the fire affected only one property, reports the show Degpunktā (TV3). Neighbors say that for several days, there had been cleaning of the area and burning of various trash, and it is possible that this tidying up caused the fire.
In the densely built village of Vaivadi, one of the private houses turned into a pile of ash and charred wooden structures. Local resident Gunars returned from fishing when he noticed that a stronger flame had risen over the neighboring plot than he had observed in previous days.
For a long time, the house had been uninhabited, and people began to come there relatively recently. Most likely, the attempts in the last few days to tidy up the area and burn unnecessary items led to a significant portion of the property being burned. According to a local resident, the fire started in a shed and then spread to the house.
Firefighters extinguished the flames for about two and a half hours. A bathhouse and a house with a total area of 90 square meters were burned on the property.
