With the first spring trips to the summer house, the main residence in the city becomes a tempting target for burglars.
A recent study titled "Perception of Housing Security Among Residents of Latvia" found that the biggest risk to homes (43%) is theft.
To reduce this risk, nearly half (46%) of respondents consider reliable windows and doors to be sufficient protection. However, experts strongly advise complementing this protection with a door code and anti-burglary alarm systems.
By the way, one can also use ingenuity. For example, clothes left to dry on the balcony or in the yard serve as a hint that you will return soon, which can also deter intruders.
So, what is popular among thieves?
In principle, nothing has changed; they most often steal easily resalable items – jewelry, tools, and expensive electronics. And discovered financial savings in apartments are like hitting the jackpot!
