Last week, surveillance cameras at the Latvia-Belarus border captured an unusual guest — a bear approached the fence around 5:00 AM, Latvian border guards reported to bb.lv.
The animal stood on its hind legs and tested the strength of the fence, after which it began a more thorough inspection of the barrier, trying several times to dig a hole. However, the builders did an excellent job – the border turned out to be locked.
Having realized that it was impossible to breach the state border, the bear returned back – to Latvia.
Border guards report that such visits from wild animals at the border have been occurring more frequently lately.
