The traffic accident involving five trucks that occurred on Monday morning on the Liepaja highway may have been caused by an incorrect choice of trajectory, the State Police informed the LETA agency.
The report of the incident was received by law enforcement at 10:58. Preliminary information available to the police indicates that a man born in 1969, driving one of the trucks, likely did not choose a safe trajectory and provoked a collision with other vehicles.
As a result of the accident, one person was physically injured and was taken to a medical facility.
The police continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
It was previously reported that on Monday morning, the Liepaja highway was closed due to a collision of trucks near Tīreļi.
At the scene, medical assistance was required for two participants in the accident, as reported by the Emergency Medical Service.
One injured person sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a medical facility in stable condition, while the other did not sustain serious injuries and did not require hospitalization.
