In Brazil, the investigation into the death of a 21-year-old girl, who was pushed off a bridge without a safety rope during an extreme attraction, continues. New shocking details have emerged: one witness claims that an employee of the company took the action camera from the still-living victim immediately after her fall.

After the tragic incident on an abandoned railway bridge in São Paulo state, new circumstances surrounding the event are coming to light, reports Welt.

According to an eyewitness who was waiting for their turn to jump, one of the employees of the organization conducting the extreme jumps may have taken the action camera of the deceased girl. It is believed that the recording captured the last seconds before the tragedy.

The incident occurred on the unfinished Ponte do Esqueleto ("Skeleton Bridge") near the city of Limeira. The structure is located about 148 kilometers north of São Paulo and has attracted extreme sports enthusiasts for many years.

The 21-year-old girl paid 330 Brazilian reais (about 56 euros) to participate in the attraction. This amount included the jump itself and video recording using a 360-degree camera.

However, during the preparation for the jump, a fatal mistake occurred. The girl was lifted onto the shoulders of two instructors and pushed off the bridge, which is about 40 meters high, without securing the safety rope.

In a video that spread online, one of the eyewitnesses can be heard shouting to the staff at the last moment, reminding them about the safety harness. However, it was too late to prevent the tragedy.

According to the Brazilian publication O Globo, a witness told the police that immediately after the fall, one of the organizers removed the action camera from the victim. The device has not been found to this day.

The police report states that the girl was indeed recording her jump. Investigators confirmed the presence of the device in the available video footage, but its whereabouts remain unknown.

According to the eyewitness, after the tragedy, the staff could not provide any explanations to those present, appeared confused, and hurriedly began to collect the equipment. Some even changed clothes before the police arrived.

It is particularly tragic that the girl likely survived the fall itself.

One of the first nurses to arrive at the scene reported that she found signs of life in the victim.

"She was breathing heavily. I checked her pupils — they were dilated. The pulse was very weak, but still detectable," the woman said.

According to her, she even tried to support the girl with words, hoping that she could hold on until rescuers arrived.

The investigation is being conducted by the civil police of São Paulo state. Three men have already been detained in connection with the case. They may face charges of causing death by negligence.

Investigators note that none of the organizers could explain why the safety rope was never secured.

"They say they do not remember who was responsible for checking the equipment and who was supposed to secure the safety harness. But the fact remains: the rope was not attached to the girl," said a police representative.

The tragedy has once again drawn attention to safety issues on the Ponte do Esqueleto. In recent years, serious accidents have already occurred here. In 2024, a cyclist fell from the bridge and died. After that, authorities demanded to restrict access to the site and install warning signs, but after some time, the bridge once again became a popular spot for thrill-seekers.

The story of the 21-year-old Brazilian woman has shocked the entire country. Now investigators must not only establish the circumstances of the fatal mistake regarding the safety harness but also determine the fate of the missing camera, which may contain important evidence of the last moments of the girl's life.
