In the past 24 hours, 121 traffic accidents have been registered in Latvia, with nine people injured in the accidents, reports the State Police.
Among the injured was one cyclist.
Six drivers were detained on Friday for operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including five who were driving while intoxicated. In all cases, the level of intoxication was so severe that criminal charges were applied to the drivers.
The police issued 187 reports for speeding yesterday, and three drivers were penalized for aggressive driving.
Overall, in the past 24 hours, the police issued 520 reports for various traffic violations.
