Cases of fraud have been identified where criminals, posing as the State Agency of Digital Development (GAČR / VDAA), are sending fake messages to residents, the Latvian State Radio and Television Center (LVRTC) reported to the LETA agency.

Fraudsters, posing as the State Agency of Digital Development (GAČR), are sending messages about an allegedly received notification in an electronic address from LVRTC regarding the imminent expiration of the "eParaksts" on the "eID card" and urging users to review it on the portal "latvija.gov.lv". The sent link may appear reliable; however, it leads to a fake website not associated with the official "latvija.gov.lv".

LVRTC emphasizes that it is always necessary to check the website address before entering data, not to trust links received via email or SMS, the official address should be entered manually in the browser, and access data for "eParaksts" or banking information should not be shared with third parties.

In case of suspected fraud, it is essential to immediately inform the State Police and the service provider of "eParaksts" — LVRTC.

If a resident has entered access data for "eParaksts" on a fake website or shared it with others, they must immediately report to the State Police and their bank, change the PIN codes for "eParaksts", and, if necessary, suspend the certificates.

LVRTC is the main operator of the terrestrial broadcasting network for radio and television programs in the country. LVRTC also owns 23% of the shares of the mobile operator SIA "Latvijas mobilais telefons".
