On Saturday, 83 traffic accidents were registered in Latvia, with ten people injured in the incidents, reports the State Police.
Among the injured was one cyclist.
Seventeen drivers were detained on Saturday for operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Fifteen drivers were found to be under the influence of alcohol, including 14 in a severe state of intoxication, and were therefore prosecuted.
The police issued 248 reports for speeding on Saturday, and a total of 630 reports for various traffic violations.
