On Thursday, the State Border Guard (SBG) prevented seven attempts by illegal migrants to cross the Belarusian-Latvian border, the SBG reported to the LETA agency.
For the first time this year, attempts by illegal migrants to cross the border occurred on February 2, when two individuals tried to enter Latvia. A total of 110 attempts at illegal border crossings have been prevented this year.
The enhanced border security regime between Latvia and Belarus has been extended until June 30.
