Welcome to Récidive! Get ready to share a cell with criminals and experience something you won’t find anywhere else. The establishment offers after-work drinks on weekdays, as well as immersive sessions and brunch on weekends.
The bar is designed to convey the atmosphere of a real prison. From the moment they enter, guests are required to wear an orange prison jumpsuit.
"The goal is not to depict the French prison system, which we know is not pleasant. We are trying to immerse people in the world of an American movie or series, such as 'Prison Break' or 'Orange is the New Black,'" explains one of the bar owners.
The brunch menu (€35) includes a savory croissant, a hot drink, a cold drink, an egg muffin, a mini muesli bar, brioches, and three small pastries in the trendy trompe-l'œil style.
Immersive sessions last 1.5 hours. "Shark is the oldest inmate. On the day of your arrival, he decided to escape from prison, so you need to solve puzzles to escape with him," shares another owner, not revealing too many plot details.
The cost of the fully immersive sessions is €49.99 and includes a plate of tapas and a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic).
