American educational institutions are not surprised by such stories.
In the American state of Kentucky, 36-year-old teacher Sidney Graff has been charged with sexual offenses against a fifth grader.
According to Local 12, the woman was initially accused of engaging in inappropriate communication with a minor student. However, during the investigation, it was revealed that the relationship with the child went beyond online communication. According to law enforcement, Graff raped a student under the age of 12 and also unlawfully exploited him.
According to the protocol, detectives examined the alleged conversations between the minor and the suspect.
"The screenshots and video recordings of the conversations show the suspect, as well as her name, Sidney Graff, displayed in the upper left corner," the protocol states.
Initially, the teacher was released on bail, but after new charges were brought, the court tightened the preventive measure. Now, to be released, she must post a bail of $500,000.
The investigation was initiated following a tip from other students who learned about Graff's correspondence with a classmate and reported it to the school principal. The police, while examining the case, suggested that the teacher may have been meeting with the child outside of school. Interestingly, Sidney Graff initially admitted her guilt but later retracted those statements, claiming her innocence. The investigation is ongoing.
