He is also charged with 11 counts of rape
In Winchester court, Philip Young pleaded guilty to a series of sexualized offenses, including multiple rapes he committed against his now ex-wife over a period of 13 years.
The 49-year-old Young admitted to 48 out of 56 charges brought against him, pleading guilty to 14 counts of voyeurism, 11 counts of rape, 11 counts of administering drugs with the intent to stupefy, seven counts of sexual violence with penetration, four counts of sexual violence, and one count of publishing obscene materials.
From 2010 to 2024, Young published more than 500 intimate photographs and videos of his wife—he filmed her during intimate acts without her consent for his own sexual gratification.
The 48-year-old Joanne Young, who previously waived her right to anonymity, attended the court hearing accompanied by her sister and a member of a witness support organization.
The defendant denied his guilt on the remaining eight charges related to the making and possession of indecent images of children, as well as the possession of extreme pornographic images.
After Young pleaded guilty, the senior investigator on the case, Detective Superintendent Jeff Smith of Wiltshire Police, expressed gratitude to Joanne Young for her "incredible bravery."
"I would like to highlight the incredible bravery of Jo, which she has shown throughout this process. She continues to be supported by specially trained staff," he said.
