Police officer detained for illegal acquisition of information from the state information system of Latvia.
The Internal Security Bureau (IDB) has detained an employee of the Main Criminal Police Department of the State Police, who, using access rights to information systems, unlawfully checked personal data and transmitted the obtained information to a third party, the IDB reported to the LETA agency.
The crime was uncovered in cooperation with the State Police.
Preventive measures not related to deprivation of liberty have been applied to the official of the State Police, including a ban on performing official duties.
