On Monday in Daugavpils, rescuers retrieved the body of a deceased person from the river, reports LETA, citing the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS).
The body was handed over to the State Police officers.
Over the past day, the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) received 42 calls — four for fire extinguishing, 29 for rescue operations, and nine calls turned out to be false.
It was previously reported that on Sunday, two people fell through the ice on Lake Aluksne: one was rescued, while the other died.
