Малоимущему стало скучно, и он решил развлечься.

A homeless resident of China tricked several women into supporting him, buying him expensive clothes and the latest smartphones, as well as paying for his visits to high-end restaurants. Notably, he posed as a wealthy nightclub owner.

According to the South China Morning Post, in August, a Shanghai resident named Liu Qian (name changed) reported to the police. She claimed that she was deceived by a 36-year-old man with the surname Chen, who pretended to be a nightclub owner. He promised to pay her 3,500 yuan (about $500) for accompanying him to restaurants and other entertainment venues.

The man came to Liu Qian's home with a black bag, which he claimed contained about 50,000 to 60,000 yuan (seven to eight thousand dollars). He said that this amount would be enough to cover expenses and future costs. When Chen stepped away, the woman decided to peek into the bag and saw that the money inside was fake.

The fraudster was detained and soon arrested. During the investigation, it was revealed that the perpetrator used a fake social media account for his scams. There, he, posing as a "special agent," offered candidates large sums of money for companionship. During in-person meetings, he showed stacks of fake banknotes used in banks for training employees, promising to pay later.

The investigation revealed that Chen frequently visited high-end establishments, each time accompanied by different companions. He made them pay for food, drinks, hotels, and taxis, showing large bundles of cash. The women willingly paid, believing Chen to be a wealthy individual. Additionally, as investigators found out, his victims bought him expensive clothing and the latest smartphones. By the time they realized they had been deceived, Chen had already disappeared.

The investigation showed that Chen had deceived five women. The article notes that if the fraudster was unable to quickly find a new victim, he would sleep on benches in parks due to financial difficulties.
