In Jurmala, a truck driver with a raised fork loader knocks down all the traffic control cameras, which fall onto another vehicle.
For unknown reasons, the loading device (manipulator) of the truck remained in the raised position. The driver did not notice this and continued driving to a location where a structure with traffic control cameras was built across the road, writes the automotive portal iauto.lv.
"On November 14, 2025, around 5:00 PM in Jurmala, on Asaru Avenue, a 'Scania' truck collided with a pole with a metal structure, which fell onto the roadway, blocking traffic in both directions. As a result of the impact, a vehicle on the road, a 'Ford' minibus driven by a man, was also damaged. No one was injured in the accident. Traffic was fully restored around 8:00 PM," the State Police responded to iAuto.
"In various recordings from dashcams taken in traffic, we see that what is taught in driving schools and what is required in CSDD exams differs from what actually happens on the roads and that, whether we like it or not, others have to 'adapt' to this. Drivers who follow the rules wisely drive behind and... record! They drive and record, enjoying how far the driver with unsecured cargo or a raised manipulator will get before an accident occurs! And what extreme video they will manage to capture then! But what can the operator do? How can they stop the violator driving ahead? Drive behind and honk? Switch headlights? There is a lack of those who observe traffic and are able to react adequately to prevent violations or dangerous situations," comments traffic specialist, driving school instructor, Associate Professor Eriks Grigis.
