On Saturday, 132 traffic accidents were recorded in Latvia, resulting in 13 injuries, including four pedestrians, the State Police reported to the LETA agency.
Yesterday, the police detained 13 drivers for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. 11 of the detained drivers were found to be so severely intoxicated that they will face criminal charges with the confiscation of the vehicle or the recovery of its value.
Due to speeding, 214 protocols were issued yesterday. Two drivers were penalized for aggressive driving behavior.
In total, the police issued 504 protocols for traffic violations yesterday.
