Ходатайство Коломойского и Боголюбова об апелляции суд отклонил.

Since the banker fell out with Zelensky, he has not been lucky.

Kolomoisky and Boholyubov must pay over $3 billion to PrivatBank, ruled the Court of England.

The High Court of England found the former owners of PrivatBank guilty of large-scale fraud and ordered them to pay the state bank over $3 billion in compensation. They must make this payment by November 24, 2025. Otherwise, enforcement proceedings will begin through their seized assets.

The judge stated outright that the oligarchs' positions were "implausible and based on conscious lies." Therefore, the court rejected Kolomoisky and Boholyubov's petition for an appeal.

Recall that the High Court of London issued a final ruling on July 30, 2025, in the case of PrivatBank against Igor Kolomoisky, Gennady Boholyubov, and affiliated companies, finding them guilty of illegally siphoning off more than $1.9 billion.

Igor Kolomoisky's lawyer, Alexander Lysak, noted that "the published decision of the High Court of England and Wales is not final and does not put an end to the years-long litigation."

"Igor Kolomoisky intends to exercise his legal right and appeal it in accordance with the rules of English civil procedure," emphasized Alexander Lysak.

According to English law, a party that disagrees with a court's decision has the right to appeal directly to the Court of Appeal of England and Wales, even if the High Court has denied permission to appeal. In this case, the corresponding petition was filed immediately after the announcement of the decision, but the court of first instance rejected it. This does not limit the defendants' rights to approach the appellate court directly.

According to the lawyer, Igor Kolomoisky's side is currently preparing an appeal that will be submitted within the legally prescribed timeframe. The legal process is ongoing, and the final outcome will be determined only after all arguments are considered in the appellate court.

"Cases of such scale and complexity usually involve several levels of judicial oversight. Such a procedure ensures adherence to the principles of fair trial, which are the foundation of the English justice system," added Alexander Lysak.

In 2024, the Supreme Court of Ukraine definitively settled the legal disputes surrounding PrivatBank, confirming the impossibility of returning the bank to Kolomoisky. This decision marked an important stage in resolving the long-standing conflict between the state and the oligarch.

The scandal between Zelensky and Kolomoisky has become a telling example of the complex relationship between political power and oligarchic structures in Ukraine. It demonstrated both the attempts of the new leadership of the country to overcome the influence of financial groups and the difficulties of this process amid ongoing military conflict and economic instability. Ukraine's legal victories in international courts against Kolomoisky were seen as "a significant step in the fight against corruption and the return of stolen assets."

Thus, the decision made has not received final status, and the parties continue to exercise their procedural rights within the prescribed procedure.
