The former deputy released five videos without indicating the status of a foreign agent.
Politician Lev Shlosberg has been sentenced to 420 hours of compulsory work for evading the duties of a foreign agent. He insisted that the unmarked videos were not published by him, but by third-party resources.
The criminal case for evading the duties of a foreign agent (Part 2, Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code) against Shlosberg was initiated in early October 2024. For seven months, it was considered by a magistrate, as the maximum penalty under the relevant article does not exceed three years of imprisonment. A first-time offender for a minor crime cannot be isolated from society and sent to a correctional colony in the absence of aggravating circumstances (recidivism, severe consequences, motives of hatred, etc.) — no such circumstances were established in Shlosberg's case.
According to the investigation, from May 12 to July 31, 2024, Lev Shlosberg posted five videos on his VKontakte page without indicating the status of a foreign agent. Investigators concluded that the politician "evaded the performance of duties stipulated by the legislation on foreign agents," violating the established order of activity. The crime, according to the indictment, was committed after Shlosberg had been administratively liable for similar violations twice within a year (under Part 4, Article 19.34 of the Administrative Offenses Code).
