A decapitated body of a woman was discovered in Yekaterinburg. Her son was detained on suspicion of murder.

According to reports citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk region, the body was found in the Southwest Forest Park of Yekaterinburg, near a gas station. According to Valery Gorelykh, head of the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the body was discovered by a local resident who was out for a run. It was unclothed, and there was a ring on her finger.

The regional office of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that the woman's head was found in a bag 200 meters away. Personal belongings of the victim were also found there.

The identity of the victim was established through her fingerprints. The deceased was a native of one of the Central Asian countries, born in 1984. She arrived in Russia in 2023 and worked in a shopping center in Yekaterinburg.

Soon, the suspect in the woman's murder was detained. He turned out to be her 21-year-old unemployed son. According to preliminary data from the investigation, the motive for the murder was a hostile relationship: she tried to force her son to go to work.

Investigators believe that the suspect lured his victim to the park under the pretext of escorting her to a new apartment that he allegedly found for her. There, he dealt with her.

"We apprehended the murderer at his residence. He was confident that the police would not track him down, as he had decapitated her and hidden the clothes. Despite the fact that mother and son lived in different rented apartments – he on Reshetnikova Street, she on Nachdiv Onufriev Street – domestic quarrels between them flared up often," Gorelykh said.

"The suspect told two relatives about his horrific act, but they were afraid to report what happened to the police. Four other people lived in the apartment where the suspect resided. When detectives asked how he could raise his hand against his own mother, the sorrowful son replied in a way that he had previously killed livestock and was used to this process," added the police department representative.
