Residents of Riga, in Bolderāja, witnessed active police actions after a 17-year-old young man died near one of the multi-storey buildings. Some heard the moment of the fall but could not imagine that a human body flew past the windows. It is still unclear why the young man fell, but it is known that at the time of the incident, he was not alone in the apartment, reports the Degpunktā program (TV3).
For several hours, the body of a young man covered with a blue bag lay near a multi-storey building on Gobas Street in Riga. According to residents, he fell from an apartment on the ninth floor. Neighbors living near the room where the young man usually visited claim that it was always quiet and peaceful there.
The husband of one of the neighbors heard the moment of the fall — he thought something was thrown out of the window, and only upon the arrival of the police did he realize the seriousness of what had happened.
"I didn’t know it was him. I approached the window and... thought someone was knocking. I came closer, and, oh my God, he’s lying there. I can’t, his face is still in front of my eyes. A young guy, 17 years old... it’s terrible," said a witness.
The deceased was not a resident of this building but often visited there. According to local residents, the young man had a distinctive appearance — he wore black clothing and platform shoes.
Whether this was his personal choice will be determined by the investigation. A woman who managed to speak with journalists urges people to pay more attention to those around them and to notice in time if someone may need help.
The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the State Police. A criminal case has been initiated under Chapter 13 of the Criminal Law — on crimes against human health.
