On Tuesday, 77 migrants attempted to illegally cross the Latvian-Belarusian border, reported the State Border Guard.
A total of 10,731 attempts to illegally cross the border have been prevented this year, and for humanitarian reasons, 26 people have been accepted in Latvia.
Due to the ongoing flow of illegal migrants from Belarus, the government has extended the enhanced control regime at the Latvian-Belarusian border until December 31 of this year.
